Main contractors Grahams approached Envair Projects to design and install an aseptic suite in a new building at Victoria Hospital. The suite would be for the manufacture of intravenous cytotoxic chemotherapy and other aseptically dispensed products.
The existing Pharmacy Aseptic Clean Room Facility in Victoria Hospital is an unlicensed facility and operates under Section 10 Exemption, Medicines Act. The new suite is to fully conform to EU GMP rules & guidance and be compliant with licensing requirements for MHRA to support a future application.
Working closely with the Grahams and Victoria Hospital to assess their needs our design team came up with a flexible design that suited the hospitals current needs with the flexibility to cope with the suite's growth plans.
The facility design incorporates 4 grade B Isolator rooms split into a separate Cytotoxic and Aseptic sides, change rooms serving each and grade C support rooms together with peripheral unclassified support spaces. New mechanical and electrical plant rooms were installed and full MEP services provided including a new AHU and HVAC system.
The full project being delivered on time within a 26 week programme and within budget.
